Takeaway Scout Creator Agreement

Last updated: 14 October 2026
Using Takeaway Scout™ responsibly
Content and activity must be lawful, genuine and relevant. Takeaway Scout™ may moderate or remove material and restrict accounts where reasonably necessary to protect users, businesses and platform integrity.

1. Parties and acceptance

This Takeaway Scout Creator Agreement is between Brecon Take Aways Limited (trading as Takeaway Scout) and the individual who registers for, applies to, or uses the Takeaway Scout Creator Portal. It supplements the Website & App Terms, Privacy Policy, Review & Rating Policy and Acceptable Use & Content Moderation Policy. If terms conflict on creator-specific matters, this Agreement applies to the extent legally permitted. The Creator Hub is intended for adults aged 18 or over.

2. Accounts and approval

A creator must provide accurate information, keep login credentials secure, and comply with the application and approval process. Approval is not guaranteed. Creator access is separate from any merchant profile or shared Takeaway Scout sign-in. We may suspend or withdraw creator privileges for policy breaches, suspected fraud or safety concerns.

3. Genuine reviews and disclosure

Creator videos must reflect genuine experiences and not misrepresent a visit, food order, takeaway, price, hygiene status or another person. Before submission, creators must disclose payment, free food, discounts, gifts, affiliate links, commercial relationships or other material incentives. Where a video is advertising, the creator must ensure clear, prominent and timely advertising identification, including when sharing it elsewhere.

4. Rights, music and people filmed

Creators retain ownership of original material they create. They confirm that they hold all necessary rights to upload and license the video, music, photographs, logos and other content, and that filming, recording and publishing identifiable people or private premises is lawful and appropriately authorised. Do not upload private personal data or footage of children without suitable legal basis and permissions.

5. Licence to Takeaway Scout

For content submitted for publication, creators grant Brecon Take Aways Limited a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for the duration the content is made available on the service and a reasonable period for legitimate archive, moderation and existing promotional uses, to host, store, reproduce, display, stream, distribute, format, crop, caption and technically adapt it across Takeaway Scout websites, local domain pages, apps and official social channels. Separate express permission is required for materially new paid advertising campaigns featuring a creator as an endorsement unless separately agreed. The licence does not transfer copyright ownership and is subject to applicable data-protection and personality rights.

6. Publication and editorial control

Submitting content does not guarantee publication, placement, payment or continued visibility. Takeaway Scout may verify, moderate, request corrections, add legally required disclosures, refuse, restrict or remove content. We may retain limited evidence of disputes or suspected misconduct where lawful. A creator video is not a certified food hygiene inspection or verified customer star rating.

7. Creator reviews and Scout Score

Creators may submit genuine scored reviews. An approved creator review is eligible for Scout Score under the same rules as any other approved customer review, whether or not the creator submits a video. Each review can contribute only once. Creator status, video submission, sponsorship and funding declarations do not independently add or subtract Scout Score points. All reviews remain subject to the platform’s ordinary authenticity, moderation and eligibility checks.

8. Complaints and takedown

Businesses and individuals may report inaccuracies, privacy violations, copyright concerns, undisclosed advertising or harmful content under the Complaints & Appeals Policy. Creators must cooperate reasonably with genuine enquiries. We may temporarily restrict a video while reviewing a report.

9. Personal information and marketing

We process creator account details, application decisions, uploads, profile images, consent choices and security information as described in the Privacy Policy. Optional marketing consent is separate from acceptance of this Agreement and may be withdrawn. Public creator profiles and published videos may be copied or shared by others.

10. Account closure and deletion

A creator may request closure using the published contact process. We aim to delete creator-specific profile information, submissions and associated stored media, subject to lawful retention, active disputes, backups and technical limitations. A shared authentication identity needed for other Takeaway Scout services may remain. Removal from our services cannot guarantee removal of third-party reposts.

11. Payments and employment

Unless a separate written agreement expressly provides otherwise, creator participation is voluntary and unpaid; it creates no employment, agency, partnership or right to expenses, commissions, free meals or other benefits. Creators must not claim to act as Takeaway Scout inspectors or employees.

12. Liability and applicable law

Creators are responsible for their own submissions and for obtaining necessary permissions. Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or removes statutory rights. This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights and applicable jurisdiction rules.

13. Changes and contact

Material changes will be published on the Creator Hub or otherwise notified where appropriate. The current policies and the contact details shown on the Takeaway Scout website explain how to raise questions, complaints and privacy requests. Last revised: 14 October 2026.

14. Creator funding declarations and scoring eligibility

When submitting a creator video, you must accurately declare whether the featured experience was self-funded (independent/green), gifted or discounted (amber), or paid/promotional (red). Disclose relevant benefits, including payment, gifts, free or discounted food, travel or other expenses, commissions, affiliate arrangements, agency support and relevant commercial relationships. You must promptly correct any inaccurate or outdated declaration.

Approved creator reviews count towards Scout Score on the same basis as approved reviews from other customers, including where no video has been submitted. A video or funding declaration does not itself change the score or add an extra review. The same rules against fake, duplicated, deceptive and manipulated reviews apply to everyone, and invalid reviews may be removed or excluded.

Where video or other creator content is advertising, you must identify it clearly and prominently as “Ad” or “Advertisement” wherever it appears, including on your own social media. Any platform disclosure must be immediately noticeable and readable. You remain responsible for complying with applicable advertising requirements on third-party platforms.

You must have permission to use third-party footage, music and other materials and respect filming, privacy and intellectual-property rights. Takeaway Scout may request evidence, correct declarations, update advertising labels, moderate or remove content, and suspend access in accordance with this Agreement and applicable law.
